Paul Gene Risinger, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Monday, December 25, 2023. Born on April 1, 1938, in a log house in Milam, Texas, to Oscar Paul Parrish and Gertrude Reynolds, Paul lived a life marked by dedication to his country, his work, and his beloved family.

Military Service

After briefly working in Houston, Paul answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959 at Camp Pendleton in California.

Joined DuPont in Orange as a Chemical Analyst

Dedicated 30 years of service until retirement in 1991. Also served as volunteer deputy constable and in the sheriff's department for Orange County.

Moved to Shelby County with wife Sandy. Served on the DuPont Employee Recreation Association committee.

Retirement & New Beginnings

1996-1999

Shrimp Boat Operators

Operated a shrimp boat out of Kemah, Galveston, and Sabine Pass with Sandy. Also owned and operated the Dairy Cream in Shelbyville for six years.

Enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. Volunteer fireman in Shelbyville.
